Scar Camouflage

There are not too many of us, that get through life without a scar or two.
Unfortunately, whether due to injury or illness, some people have disfiguring
scars that make them feel very self conscious. In many cases, scars can be
minimized by carefully blending and matching similar flesh tone pigments
to the surrounding skin. By tattooing into the scars in a sketchy type manner
the scar area can become much less obvious.

White scars of a year or more, are in most cases, very good candidates
for scar camouflage procedures. Occasionally a darker hyper-pigmented
scar can be carefully improved upon as well. In most cases, the ideal scars
for scar camouflage procedures are flat. Keloid scars are generally not good
candidates because what makes the scar more obvious is the texture and
not the color. Often, laser resurfacing can vastly improve the appearance
of that type of scarring.
